A condolence book in memory of the Queen Mother has been defaced.
Pages of the book in the porch of St Stephen's Church, in the town centre, were daubed with words saying, "I'm glad she's dead" and "cow" and signed by famous dead people over other people's genuine comments.
Despite the vandalism, the book will remain in the church for the next week.
The defaced pages have now been taken out.
