AT the March meeting, Jim Steele, a craftsman from Southam and maker of the famous Windsor Chairs, was speaker.
One of only about 100 such craftsmen in the country, Mr Steele demonstrated the various stages of making one of these beautiful chairs.
He brought with him varied tools and also several extremely comfortable examples of his work, which members tried out.
This essentially English craft will eventually die out for want of the necessary elm trees and those with the expertise and patience required for the work.
Mr Steele drew the monthly raffle, won by June Mear.
There are two meetings in April: Members' evening on April 10; St George's Day celebrations on April 23. New members welcome.
