IT was hardly The Towering Inferno but Studley Village Hall played one last starring role before it is torn down.
The hall was filled with smoke and 30 firefighters used it to train in rescue operations.
Four fire engines from Redditch, Henley and Studley turned up on Thursday evening for the exercise.
Village hall committee vice-chairman Barbara Beaman played her part as well, with crews helping her from the building in a mock rescue.
