STUDLEY hitman Craig Pountney edged nearer the Midland Alliance golden boot with a late strike in Saturday's 2-0 win at Bridgnorth.

The Bees' rise and rise continued despite a 3-1 blip at home to league leaders Stourbridge last week with BKL climbing to eighth.

Manager Mark Chambers switched from his favoured 3-5-2 formation.

Pountney took his tally to 28 this season - seven ahead of nearest rival Lee Bullimore and Chambers says he wants his striker to win the award.

Studley visit lowly Stafford tonight (ko 7.45pm) with a slight doubt over midfielder Mark Beddowes who picked up a dead leg at the weekend.

Midfielders Trevor Whittington and Gavin Barratt are available.

Seventh placed Quorn are the visitors on Saturday (ko 2.45pm) and BKL entertain sixth from bottom Chasetown on Tuesday (ko 7.45pm).

The club holds a race night at The Beehive on Saturday starting at 8pm with anyone welcome.
