ONE of Wyre Forest's biggest tourist attractions has had a boom start to the new season.
The first two days over Easter - regarded as a litmus test for the year - was the busiest in West Midland Safari Park' s 30-year history.
It basked in record numbers of visitors on Good Friday and Easter Saturday as people soaked up the sun and admired the park's latest star attraction - a two-month-old rhino.
"You can get within touching distance and it was really playing to the gallery," said head warden Bob Lawrence.
"Bank Holiday Monday and the following week was very good too."
Referring to the effects of foot and mouth, he added: "Last year was the worst 12 months in the park's history, without a doubt, but this Easter has gone a long way to making up for it."
