CIVIC dignitaries from Bromsgrove and the German town of Gronau will be getting together for a twinning meeting this weekend.

A party of 11 visitors from Bromsgrove's twin town, Gronau, are due to arrive this Friday, for the three-day visit.

Bromsgrove District Council chairman, Cllr Mike Gill, (Con, Woodvale) will welcome guests with a special ceremony at the Council House, in Burcot Lane.

He will then present the Mayor of Gronau, Cllr Karl-Heinz Holtwisch, with a gravel as a gift from the people of Bromsgrove.

"It will be wonderful for us all to get together again to share the delights of the district and the surrounding areas with our visitors," said Mr Gill.

"We hope during the time our visitors are with us, we will continue to strengthen the bonds of friendship and the twining links between our towns which has proved so successful in the past 20 years."

The German visitors will have a chance to visit Avoncroft Museum and the Royal Worcester Porcelain Factory during their stay.

They have also been invited to an evening of music by Bromsgrove Concerts in the town's Spadesbourne Suite.
