Campaigners trying to save eye services at the Alexandra Hospital should be given a boost this week as Redditch Council throws its full weight behind the project.
A petition calling for the Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust to keep eye services, such as cataract surgery, in Redditch has been placed in the town hall in Alcester Street.
Campaigners fear the services, including an eye laser bought through an appeal by the Redditch and Bromsgrove Advertisers, will be moved to Kidderminster or Worcester as part of a review.
