Three stars
TAKEN from the signature song of hit musical Cabaret, the title of this album could describe anything but Ms Minnelli's life, which has certainly not been a song and dance.
Most notably she came out fighting and singing after being diagnosed with the potentially fatal brain disease viral encephalitis two years ago.
Although nothing new, this album succeeds in encapsulating why this woman has become adored by her millions of fans.
The choices of songs from Cabaret are superb, the lively title song never fails to please and the second, Maybe This Time, showed the more tender side of the musical's main character, Sally Bowles, portrayed by Liza in 1972.
This album - very wisely - also includes the extremely moving 1989 hit Losing My Mind which was thought by many to be the singer's work at its best.
Also included are All That Jazz, from racy musical Chicago, You're So Vain and God Bless The Child.
