A VILLAGE school which has coped without a hall for about four decades could finally be in line for one, writes Julian Seva.
Children at Mappleborough Green First School have assemblies and lunch in their classrooms and do PE outside.
But on Thursday, Warwickshire County Council will consider an application to finally extend the Henley Road school with a new hall, servery, toilets and entrance area.
Although the development would be in a green belt area, planning officers do not feel it would be harmful to the area and would actually improve it.
The project is likely to cost more than £200,000, much of which will come from the LEA. But youngsters at the school have also been raising funds by selling toast and running a tuck shop.
Miss Julian said the hall could be in place for November if given the go-ahead.
