A neighbourhood housing co-operative for the over-60s set up by Redditch Co-operative Homes has won a national award.
The ROOM National Partnership Award, which focuses on community involvement and regeneration, was given to the new Breedon Housing Co-operative, off Kingsley Avenue in Lakeside.
The 17-bungalow development is the first over-60s leasehold housing co-operative in the country and will be officially opened by Redditch MP Jacqui Smith on Friday.
Residents have been involved in the design of their own homes.
The award was due to be presented today.
