IN the current issue of Redditch Parish Magazine, the vicar (the Rev JC Williams) addresses an appeal to the public to help in preserving the beauty of Church Green.
He mentions that Mr H Langston, who has hitherto been responsible for making the grounds and lawns, is giving up the work at the end of March.
"Unfortunately," says the Vicar, "he has been much discouraged by the lack of co-operation from the general public.
"I regret to say that of latter years, the public have not helped to keep the centre of the town in a fit state.
"Many people will not keep to the paths. They run across the lawns, especially if in pursuit of a bus and by regular use, new paths are being formed, thus diminishing the area.
"I can foresee a time when all the grass will have disappeared and we shall be faced with nothing but bare earth."
