Redditch Petty Sessions - The chairman said he was sorry to hear that Supt Jeffrey has sent in his resignation.
He referred to in high terms of praise to the way in which Mr Jeffrey had carried out his duties, adding that they were sorry to lose him and hoped they would have a good man to succeed him.
Supt Jeffrey thanked Mr Haywood for his kind remarks.
He mentioned that he had been connected with the police force for about 47 years, 37 of which had been spent in the Worcestershire Constabulary.
He had not been in the best of health for some time past and he felt that the time had now come for him to retire.
