DISAPPOINTED Drewe Broughton signed off the Division Three campaign with a goal but admitted: "That game was the story of our season".

The competitive Broughton is now suspended for the last two league games along with defender Scott Stamps for collecting 10 yellow cards.

But he admitted the way Harriers conceded the last-gasp equaliser against Lincoln was "disgraceful".

Broughton said: "We could have been right back in it with a win but we've allowed the ball to bounce around the box.

"We didn't expect a draw between Scunthorpe and Rushden but there was and we have thrown it away.

"We would have taken 1-0 at half-time. We started brightly which I don't think we've done for a few weeks and created one or two things but nothing too clear-cut.

"One goal should have won it but you cannot legislate for that kind of defending from a corner. To throw it away like we did was disgraceful."

Bustling front-man Broughton added his ninth goal of a season which was far more effective for him when he enjoyed a good run of games.

He added: "I've just been getting that break of the ball and maybe I could have had more goals against Lincoln.

"But that's it for me now. I would have liked to have gone out on a win.

"It's been a complete upheaval at the club. But everyone knows Ian Britton as reserve team manager and he has the full respect of the lads along with Ian Clarkson.

"There's no resentment towards Jan Molby. We have to play football and not worry about anything else.

"Players can't get involved with politics. We have no idea what goes on in the boardroom or in the manager's thoughts."
