YOUNG fans of the Lord of the Rings film enjoyed a middle-earth world battle at the town library on Thursday.
Games workshop sessions based on the novel and now movie, were enjoyed by dozens of youngsters at the Victoria Square facility.
Children aged 12 plus were invited to pick and paint a model figure of their favourite character, which was then used in battle games. Tickets were 50p and children's librarian Emma Howell said the event was a great success.
"We want to encourage more teenage boys into the library and the Lord of the Rings sessions definitely helped.
"I believe the workshop will now be touring other county libraries," she added.
