CALLING all budding anglers, both young and old.
The Droitwich Canals Trust is holding a fishing contest this year to mark the Queen's Golden Jubilee and to raise funds for the Droitwich Canal's restoration fund.
The event, which will take place on Sunday, June 2, will be held on the town's canal and will allow people of all ages and levels to compete for some fantastic prizes.
There will be an adult contest, where the first prize will be £250, the second prize will be £100 and the third prize will be £50. There will also be a junior contest and special pegs for disabled anglers.
The competition, which will begin at 8am and finish at 1pm, is being held in conjunction with the Droitwich Angling Centre and The Railway Inn Angling Club.
If you would like to take part in the contest the entry fee is £10 for adults and £5 for children.
Registration and a copy of the competition rules can be found at the Droitwich Angling Centre, in North Street, which can be contacted on 01905 779300.
Further information about the contest can be obtained from Peter Quick on 01905 779759.
