BEN Salisbury of Express Juniors took a game from Ed Palmer of Crackpots C and Geoff Burford one from each of Stan Ginn and Richard Cullis but they were not able to clinch a set and gain a point for their team in Division Three of the Malvern Table Tennis League.

Bill Lucas won two and Roy Holland one and together they won the doubles for Abbeydowne, which lost Matt Lang and Anthony Wiseman their 100 per cent doubles record. Matt won all his singles, Anthony two, and Tom James took the important one to give Malvern Juniors B the third point. Six of the sets went to a fourth game.

Ray David won a game in two sets and Mick Harford and Bill Smith each won one but none of them managed to get to a fifth game and so ended without points.

Abbeydowne were unlucky to end with only one win from Bill Lucas when they played Crackpots B because four sets went to five games and all went to the home team. Another four also needed an extra game.

RESULTS: Manor Park Maulers 0, Malvern Juniors A 10; Manor Park Express Juniors 0, Crackpots C 10; Abbeydowne 4, Malvern Juniors B 6; Crackpots B 9, Abbeydowne 1.
