POWICK hosted Cutnall Green and after two wins were hoping to extend their unbeaten run in the Worcester Sunday League Division One.

POWICK 4, CUTNALL GREEN 1

Both sides started well but it was Powick who took the lead in the seventh minute. Lee Richardson's corner was punched out by the keeper straight to James Bottomley who hit the ball straight back into the net. Three minutes later Cutnall Green levelled when there was a mix up in Powick's defence.

For the next 15 minutes Powick showed their class by passing the ball round very well. It was in the 40th minute that Powick managed to break through with good play on the left by Alan Craven and Dave Buckley for Lee Richardson to take the ball around a defender and slot it past the keeper.

Cutnall Green had a good start in the second half but were well contained by Powick's defence. In the 62nd minute Powick went further in front with top scorer Phil Skilton neatly slotting the ball past the keeper.

In the 75th minute Powick went 4-1 up with the best move of the match. Powick's keeper fed James Baker, who played the ball forward to Stuart Fish, who in turn laid the ball off for Nick Price to cross for Gary Henderson to volley the ball in from just outside the box.

Tomorrow (Saturday) Powick are at home (Lower Howsell playing field) playing Worcester City in the quarter-final of the Baylis Cup, kick off 1.45pm.

On Sunday (January 20) Powick are away to Coppertops.
