RADAR had won all seven of their home league games this season and with visitors Kays in the lower half of the table, must have been confident of maintaining the run.

MALVERN RADAR 1, KAYS 2

However, they were beaten by a goal in the last minute of a rather scrappy affair at Victoria Park last Sunday.

The first chance came in the 14th minute when Nial Henderson flicked the ball over Kays keeper Paul Taylor, only to see his effort roll against the post and then be cleared to safety. The visitors took the lead just after when, following some hesitant defending and a goalmouth scramble, Dave Horan knocked the ball into the net.

Radar hit back to level the scores with probably their best move of the match, which saw Dave Marshall square the ball to Henderson who couldn't miss from close range.

The second half was just as scrappy with the highlights being saves from the keepers, Radar's Chris Ball showing great flexibility in back-pedalling to acrobatically tip over Steve Holmes's excellent shot and Taylor doing just as well to keep out John Rooney's curling 20 yard free kick. With the game looking as if the points would be shared ,Kays broke clear down the right and Horan crossed for Kevin Jones to gleefully blast the ball home.

This Sunday Radar are away to Plumbers Arms, meet RSRE 9.30.
