Darlaston Town Ladies 0 Redditch Utd Women 6
ONLY three points behind the league leaders, Redditch were keen to start the year with the title firmly in their sights.
Although this game was a friendly, the post-Christmas run-out gave manager Steve Tayler a chance to assess injuries and match fitness.
The hosts proved a poor challenge for Redditch with Mandy Ellicott scoring two and Rachel Hopkins another before half-time.
The second half saw Ellicott complete her hat-trick and Hopkins hit a second before Natalie Lawrence scored as the referee blew for full time.
Doubts about injuries and fitness were allayed with Lucie Staniland back after a two month break and Natalie Plant after six weeks.
Redditch entertain University of Birmingham Ladies on Sunday (ko 2pm).
