18/01/02 INJURED player-manager Tim Langford is stepping up his search for a striker to help Stourport Swifts' bid to regain a top six spot.

Swifs travel to Cirencester Town in the Dr Martens Western Division tomorrow (3pm), having dropped to eighth place after mid-week wins for Evesham united and Gloucester City but with Langford injured, they have a shortage of striking options.

Kerry Giddings returns to the squad after being cup-tied for the Trophy games with Chester while Andy Wright, who made his debut in the replay, is also included, but Langford (hamstring) is out for a month.

Swifts' boss though believes his side still have plenty to play for including a say in who the title goes to.

"If we play like we did in the two games against Chester we can more than hold our own in the top six and maybe finish higher," he said.

"And even if we are not going to win the league we are going to have a say in who does because Chippenham, Solihull and Weston still have to visit Walshes Meadow."

Defender Mark Dearlove, out for the season after injuring his knee against Chester, is due to have a scan to determine if, and when, he can play again.
