PLANS to replace a derelict bus shelter on Link Top with a memorial garden have been welcomed by Malvern British Legion.
Secretary John Kimberley said he hoped it would stop people desecrating the site by using it as a public toilet.
Malvern Town Council, which is paying for the scheme, agreed last week to contribute £100 towards the legal costs likely to be incurred by the Conservators, who own the land. No planning permission is needed for alterations to the existing bus shelter.
The Conservators will grant a licence allowing it to be turned into a memorial garden and for another shelter to be built serving the new bus pull-in further up the road.
