I AGREE completely with the points made by Mrs Summer (Your Letters, January 4) about parking in the centre of Malvern.

She could have added the area by Brays and other shops in the Worcester Road and on the opposite side - Abbey National. This is a favourite dropping place for their cash machine and yet is on double yellow lines. The queues of traffic formed there are well known because it becomes a bottleneck for through traffic - yet no action is taken.

Some parking offenders appear to know the one day a warden can appear and so remove their illegally parked cars on that day.

Basically, parking in the centre of Malvern has become a nightmare. There are insufficient official parking areas (even Waitrose car park was full most of the last four or five weeks) and an almost complete lack of policing or wardens. Surely the time has come for councillors to help those who do not flout the law.
