RE: MALVERN'S purported back door rubbish collection and its imminent demise (Malvern Gazette, January 11).

We have lived in Baldenhall since 1994 and have never been served by such a collection. We have always had to place our black bags outside the front of the house. On the odd occasion when we've forgotten, the rubbish has not been collected.

I wonder what our chances are of recovering a proportion of our exorbitant Council Tax in view of the fact we have not received the service for which we have paid? Probably about the same as the chance of getting the rubbish collected from the back door.

While on the subject, when it is collected, we are left with two bin bags, often just thrown on the lawn. If there is no collection one week because of a bank holiday, we are left with three bags, if we are lucky. We then have to supply our own bag to make up the shortfall. Perhaps we could claim for the cost of that too?

Perhaps things would be better if money were spent on the service rather than on ever increasing numbers of surveys, reviews and reports about every little thing which tell us what we already knew. We can't see that happening either.
