RECENTLY my uncle died after many happy years living in Great Malvern. He was a Normandy veteran and desired the British Legion to be present at his funeral. I contacted them and they came and did a splendid task both in the chapel and at the graveside. The sight of the standards being lowered over his grave under a blue sky with the splendid Malvern Hills in the background, is something I shall never forget. I trust you will publish this letter to thank the British Legion for all they do for the "virtually unknown soldiers" who once served their country so well. Many thanks.
JOY BROWNING, (niece of Mr Roy Bayliss), Cockfosters, Barnet.
