MALVERN Town go into tomorrow's (Saturday) home Express and Star West Midlands League Premier Division fixture with championship-chasing Wolverhamp-ton Casuals (2.45pm), hopeful of including at least one new face in the starting line up.

This comes on the back of landing Evesham United striker Dean Roberts, who scored on his debut at Walsall Wood last Saturday.

Town general manager Richard Anson said: "A player with a Dr Martens Premier Division side has agreed to sign and his club have reluctantly agreed to release him, however the player had signed forms for another West Midlands League side, which has complicated things slightly, so it is just a question of getting the paperwork sorted out in time."

Anson continued: "There is also a possibility of another player with a Dr Martens Premier Division team coming here on loan, he is currently not getting a first team spot, but they are keen for him to play more regularly having recently recovered from a broken foot.

"With Mark Brooks out for at least six weeks and Adam Ward suspended for a further two weeks from Monday, the extra cover will not do us any harm."

Town, who moved into the Semi Finals of the WFA Senior Urn with a 3-1 success at home to Alvechurch on Tuesday, will be hoping to build on this against a Casuals side, who have recently started to show a few cracks.

Town boss Joey Rawle said: "We took a long time to get going on Tuesday, but the squad was stretched to the limit and both Steve Walker and Phil Slade were making their first starts in several weeks, but once we equalised, we went on and were good value for the win."

For tomorrow's game, Dean Roberts, who was cup tied for the mid week match, returns, as does Keith Holmans, but Mark Taylor picked up a groin injury on Tuesday and might face a late fitness test, whilst Chris Thomas sits out his last game following a seven day suspension.

Notwithstanding any new signings, Rawle will select from: Alden, Higgins, Walker, Cotterill, Davies, Damore, Clayton, Mogford, Holmans, Stevenson, Slade, Roberts, Hooper, Taylor and Cannon.

On Tuesday (January 22) Town travel to another championship chasing side, when they visit Tividale in the Express and Star Premier Division (7.45pm).

Reserves

TOWN Reserves booked themselves a cup final spot on Saturday, when they beat Worcester League side Inkberrow 2-1 in the Semi Final of the Evesham Hospital Cup.

Town's scorers were Barry Hughes and Dave Cannon from the penalty spot. Town will now meet Littleton in the final.

Tomorrow (Saturday), they face a tough trip to leaders Sedgely White Lions, but will be buoyed by Saturday's success and two recent good performances in the league.

Under 18's

A LARGE crowd turned up at the Langland Stadium last Thursday, for the visit of West Bromwich Albion in the League Cup, not surprisingly 'The Baggies', who boast a 100 per cent record this season, ran out comfortable 4-0 winners, but it was a good experience for the Town youngsters and will stand them in good stead, when they resume their successful League campaign at Gloucester City on Monday (7.30pm).
