AS in the past, senior members and widows of former members of Forthampton & District Royal British Legion were given a Christmas gift from the branch. Letters and cards of thanks have been received showing their appreciation. President F Remmer is pleased to report the final figure of the Poppy Appeal, house-to-house, church collections plus other items, this is £765.24. Again thanks to all.

A lot of foreign coins and used stamps have been received and will have been taken to the Royal British Legion headquarters. Please keep on saving your stamps and foreign coins as Mr Remmer t's set in some of the most picturesque countryside in the Wild West.

"People who are looking for somewhere unusual and beautiful to live might want to buy it. If you like fishing, hiking and great open spaces, it's an ideal site.

"We've marketed houses in Spain and Florida before so you never can tell. Nothing is impossible."

Mr McDonald said family and work commitments had prevented him from making full use of it.

"Basically, I'd done 22 years in the Royal Electrical Mechanical Engineers," he said.

"I was serving with the US Rangers out in Bosnia and I said to them that if there was ever any land to build on over in the States to let me know. I hadn't set foot in Montana."

He bought the land, which stands only ten miles from Billings, Montana's largest city and is near to Yellowstone National Park, in 1997 but did not move there as he was busy setting up Tangent, an IT training company.

The McDonalds are now selling the land as they have decided to stay in the region until their youngest child finishes school.

The tract of land is priced at £40,000 and Whitt, Yeates and Ridley can be contacted on 01684 573232 for further details.
