ARTHUR Allen, a supporter of many local charities and organisations, has died at the Old Rectory Nursing Home in Tenbury Wells, aged 86.
A dedicated countryman, Mr Allen devoted much of his time to the local history society and Tenbury Hospital's League of Friends.
He also supported various other charities and societies across the district.
Resident in Tenbury and Greete before that, Mr Allen, a bachelor, was an executive with the Esso petrol company before retiring early to devote time to his smallholding.
Mr Allen was a keen supporter of Tenbury Rugby Club.
His funeral is due to take place at Greete Parish Church at noon on Tuesday, January 22.
