TENNIS ace Lewis Barnes is one of the country's talented up-and-coming players who could one day follow in the footsteps of Tim Henman.

The 11-year-old Lickhill Middle School pupil, who lives in Torton, is in the LTA's National Futures Squad after impressing top coaches.

Barnes is rated number two in his age group for Great Britain and turned out for their U-12s in a match with Russia.

He led Stourbridge Tennis Club U-11s to a national title as well as winning indoor challenges in Surrey and Billesley.

Barnes is also a keen footballer and helped West Hagley U-11s win Central Warwickshire Boys League Division Four.
