BUDDING poets have been quick off the mark to enter a poetry competition aimed at raising funds for a good cause.

Entries are already rolling in after last week's Shuttle/Times and News story about the venture into verse in aid of a new £2.2 million hospice for the district.

The search is on for original verses on the theme of "sharing" and the best will be published in a compilation to go on sale in the summer.

The three that most appeal to the judges will reach an even wider audience by being published in the Shuttle/Times and News which has teamed up with Kemp Hospice to run the competition.

Rhymes, limericks or sonnets on sharing - experiences or events, good or bad - should be sent with a £2 entry fee to Poetry Competition, Kemp Hospice, 54 Sutton park Road, Kidderminster DY11 6LF.

Closing date is Thursday, January 31 and cheques should be made payable to Kemp Hospice.

Proceeds will go towards the hospice's appeal to build a new state-of-the-art centre which will see day-care places boosted from 12 to 18.
