AN APPLE a day keeps the doctor away, but not the bank manager, children of St Mary's First School in Broadway learned.
They popped into the HSBC branch in the High Street to sample local Vale produce, courtesy of fruit grower Paul Dunsby. Bank manager, Ellen Wagstaff said: "We often decorate our bank with displays, so we were delighted when Paul Dunsby offered to supply one for us. Imagine our surprise when instead of pictures, he brought in boxes of beautiful Cox's apples from his business at Cotswold Orchard in Childswickham." Last Thursday the pupils of St Mary's filed in to sample the bank's tasty treats to promote healthy eating.
