THE work of everyone involved in Opportunity Bewdley was praised by the men who hold the key to unlocking vital funding.

Kevin Westwood, of the Countryside Agency, and Advantage West Midlands representative David Campbell were both impressed by the progress made.

However, Mr Westwood said the process needed to look more at involving Bewdley's "rural hinterland" and said quality was as important as quantity in tourist accommodation.

Mr Campbell said it was important the town stays focussed on the "big picture" - where it wants to be in 10 years time.

He added: "This is the largest gathering I have seen for any of the market towns that we are involved with. That makes me very excited."
