THE Best British Foal Show, which was introduced by Brightwells Auctioneers last year and sponsored by Supporters of British Breeding and Equilibra, will take a new direction in 2002, with three separate classes to reward the Best British show jumping, dressage and eventing foals of 2002.

Richard Botterill, of Brightwells, said: "Our company's support for breeders in the UK is paramount to increasing our ability to market both nationally and internationally the high quality of sport horses being produced and it's only correct that our country should promote the breeders who produced top class sport horses for all three disciplines - eventing, show jumping and dressage."

The Best British Foal 2002 will once again be staged in August at Addington Manor Equestrian Centre alongside the Summer Gala Auction, which will include some of the best foals from the show.

The prize fund will increase from £5,000 to £7,500 with three separate classes run during the day, culminating with the individual championships as part of the evening gala.
