WITH reference to LJ Jones's letter in the Shuttle/Times & News of January 10, concerning Sainsbury's "hazardous potato situation" in the run-up to Christmas, I have to point out that unfortunately I don't think our local fire-fighters benefited from the quick disappearance of the obstructing items as suggested.
I too visited Sainsbury's on Christmas Eve and was presented, along with the other shoppers leaving the store, a bag of free potatoes.
I'd like to thank LJ Jones for my free Christmas spuds and would like to take this opportunity to raise my concerns to Sainsbury's over what I consider are dangerously over-stocked shelves of beer and wine in the hope they will be given away free too!
