I REFER to a recent series of articles in the Shuttle/Times & News.
Is it just me being cynical, or has anybody else noticed the strange coincidence between the forthcoming incinerator appeal and the new sports centre in Foley Park?
One of the grounds on which the incinerator was refused was "lack of replacement of local sports facilities". This seems to scarily coincide with the recent, controversial, decision by the district council to build the fitness centre against officers' advice (Shuttle/Times and News, December 27).
This knowledge, combined with the underwriting of the incinerator project by the county council, makes one only assume that the cards are stacked heavily (and immorally?) against local residents in February's appeal.
