I WOULD like to respond to the attack on me by Councillor Stephen Clee in last week's letters page.
Firstly, a two-tier education system including Blakedown will have an effect on Kidderminster schools.
Secondly, on the question of me knowing that "one school is going to close in Kidderminster", Mr Clee has not bothered to properly read the article referred to.
This comment was in fact made by Michael Foster, MP for Worcester, and not by myself.
Mr Clee really should get basic facts right before making attacks on people in the press.
As for where this suggestion first originated, I refer him to an evening paper dated October 29 when Councillor George Lord, county council Conservative leader, stated "there was a case for closing one of Kidderminster's high schools" although he was not in favour of the move.
Perhaps Mr Clee should speak to his own leader before having a "pop" at other councillors.
With reference to last year and my silence on the matter, the question of two-tier education in Wyre Forest was not then an issue. The new Conservative administration at County Hall has now made it one.
