ATHLETICS: Matt Vaux-Harvey won the Birmingham Cross Country League Division Two race at Northampton on Saturday.

Vaux-Harvey led Kidderminster and Stourport Athletic Club back into first place in the league by finishing in 31 minutes 20 seconds.

Alan Jackson came fourth overall and second for the club in 33-27.

Simon Wilkinson was next in 33-35, Tom Kenderdine recorded 24-42, Robin Sedman-Smith 35-54 and Rob Chrzan 36-16 to complete the team places.

Other finishers: Steve Poulton 36-37, Kevin Green 36-59, Ian Townsend 37-17, Bob Park 39-30, Andy Milwood 42-16 and Ron Payne 49-05.

The team were first on the day with 67 points, their lowest points score so far.

They are now on 348 in the league, ahead of Severn AC 452, Nuneaton 502 and Northampton 543.

Anyone is welcome to join the training sessions from 6pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Stourport Sports Club, The Kingsway, Stourport.

l Fay Kitchen is third individually after the fourth race in the West Midlands Young Athletes Cross Country League.

Kitchen finished fourth on Sunday to lead the U-15s girls to third on the day and sixth overall.

The U-13 boys came fifth on the day and are lying fifth overall.

U-15s girls: 4 Kitchen, 7 Liz Dourneen (now fifth overall), 20 Laura Easton, 28 Claire Cashmore, 29 Alison Mallard, 65 Heidi Jarosinski.

U-13s girls: 15 Charlotte James, 81 Charlotte Berrington.

U-11s girls: 25 Danielle Harris, 30 Caroline Park.

U-17s boys: 8 Matt Grainger.

U-13s boys: 18 James Shuck, 29 Adam Knowell, 33 James Humphries, 41 Jake Egginton.
