HOCKEY: Richard Wheeler's hat-trick helped Kidderminster Boundary to a 4-4 draw at home to Solihull Blossomfield in DTZ League Midlands One.

The visitors went two ahead in the first 10 minutes but Kidderminster pulled back to go ahead at the break

Wheeler scored two and Adam Robson added another.

At the start of the second half, Blossomfield pulled one back to level the scores.

Wheeler's third goal put Kidderminster in the driving seat again with 15 minutes left.

But a short-corner enabled the visitors to level the score.

Kidderminster should have come home with the points on Sunday but a first-half goal won it for the hosts.

Kidderminster completely out-played Finchfield in the second half but just could not get the ball into the net.

Simon Burkes and Neil Jackson worked hard and were awarded men-of-the-match.

After a good start to the season, Kidderminster have slipped down the table and are now fifth from bottom.

However, they are just four points behind second-placed Bridgnorth.

The seconds drew 1-1 at Warwick and lost 4-0 against Finchfield during the weekend.

The game started well for Kidderminster with a good goal as Rob Cookson tapped in Nick Morrell's right-wing cross.

Blossomfield pressed for the equaliser and were rewarded just before half time.

The second half started with Daren Jackson hitting the post in the first minute.

Blossomfield took the lead whilst Kidderminster were down to 10 men due to Jackson being yellow carded.

However, he returned to deflect a free hit and equalise before winning the game in the final minutes.

A Lee Meeola hat-trick contributed greatly to the fifths' first league win of the season.

An early home goal was cancelled out within five minutes as Blossomfield equalised.

However, Kidderminster put together some flowing play and were 3-1 ahead by half-time, thanks to two goals for Meeola and one for John Baldwin.

More fluent hockey in the second period saw Kidderminster create a number of scoring opportunities, providing Meeola's third and one each for Joe Sorrell and Adam Crouch.

Young Craig Bourne was outstanding in defence.
