BOGUS callers posing as plain-clothed police officers are believed to be responsible for a series of distraction-type offences in Hereford.
Police are warning residents to be on their guard after a quantity of cash and a pension book were taken from a house by a bogus caller holding a dummy radio or mobile phone.
A man, claiming to be a police officer, knocked at the doors of properties on Beattie Avenue, Golden Post, Hunderton Road and Belmont Road carrying a false identity card.
The man is described as being a white, in his mid 20s, 5ft 8in to 5ft 9in tall with short ginger/fair hair and a slight Irish accent.
