AN 11-year-old Bromsgrove girl has been selected to represent the district at the Worcestershire Cross Country Championships after an impressive performance in the U15 team.
Louise Bussey, of Parkside Middle School, Stourbridge Road, finished seventh running for Bromsgrove and Droitwich Middle Schools in the High School District Cross Country Championship at Bromsgrove School last Wednesday.
Louise, competing four years above her current age group, runs at the event on Saturday.
Such is her achievement, Louise was presented with her school colours for athletics by former Commonwealth 400m gold medallist Todd Bennett.
Todd, also a world silver medallist in the 4x400m relay, is the only English athlete to hold all three national sprint records in the 100m, 200m and 400m.
On Friday January 25 400m runner Jamie Baulch visits the school for an exercise day.
All the money raised will buy new PE equipment for the school and help up and coming athletes.
