DEAR EDITOR - Through the medium of your Letters page, may I express my grateful thanks to that often maligned institution the National Health Service, in particular the Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHT for the efficient manner with which I was treated after suffering a stroke at my home .
In the first instance, I was attended to by a paramedic team who conveyed me to the Alexandra Hospital at Redditch, where I was received and treated with care and consideration by junior and senior medical nursing staff, and after exploratory scans, I was transferred to the Vascular Unit at Ronkswood Hospital at Worcester, for further tests and treatment.
I was then returned to the Alexandra Hospital after about a week and remained in that hospital for a further week during which time I commenced physiotherapy treatment and subsequently transferred to the Princess of Wales Hospital in Bromsgrove where I received further treatment including occupational and physiotherapy .
Since my release from hospital, I am still attending the Stroke Rehabilitation Unit twice a week and making good progress. I am obviously grateful to all the departments and personnel concerned.
D C Danby,
West Road,
Bromsgrove.
