DEAR EDITOR - At the town council meeting in Droitwich Spa, I asked for an item to be put on a future agenda where we could discuss bus passengers in the town.
I believe that this present Tory controlled Town council is neglecting Droitwich bus passengers. When did we last have a bus shelter in the town?
The fares have gone up again. It now costs 90 pence to go one way to Westlands.
Has concern been expressed by this Town Council?
Free bus passes for the elderly and disabled were soon got rid of when we had this new administration. They will tell you the Government lays down the rules. They forget to tell you it is up to the relevant council to decide what it does individually about bus passes.
Only £174 was spent on bus shelter repairs last year. All over the town there are shelters needing repair or places which need a bus shelter. Residents pay council tax for just such things.
When is this administration going to stop sitting on money that they want to buy votes with at the next election, and start spending it where it is needed?
