DEAR EDITOR - I feel that people or organisations can often be judged better by the small things than by the large.
A year ago I parked my car on the council run car park on Stourbridge Road, Bromsgrove. In error I inserted a £2 coin into the ticket machine, a coin it was not designed to accept.
The coin was not rejected, nor did a ticket appear. It is a small thing I thought, and easily rectified. I wrote to the council that day and hand delivered my letter to the council office.
To date, I have written a further four letters to which I have received but one reply, dated July 24, 2001 in which I was told that the matter was being investigated and I would be contacted in due course.
If our council shows this disregard and laxity in small things, how can we be confident that the larger are safe in their hands.
