A 21-year-old man was stabbed in the buttocks and had £60 stolen after being attacked by four men in Headless Cross, writes Becky Procter.

The man was walking past the Dog and Partridge pub, on Evesham Road, heading away from the town at about 7.15pm on Sunday, January 6, when he was attacked.

Police said the man noticed four men walking a few yards behind him before turning into a footpath by High Trees Close.

The men then pushed the victim to the floor and held his arms down. One attacker sat on his back, pinning him down, before another one held a sharp instrument, believed to be a knife, to his throat.

Cigarettes and £60 cash were stolen and the victim, who continued to struggle, was stabbed in the buttocks before the four men ran off.

The first attacker was described as black or Asian, about 6ft tall, of medium to slim build and aged about 20. He was wearing a woolly hat, a light grey Nike tracksuit top, with a large pocket on the front and dark tracksuit trousers.

The second assailant was described as black or Asian, about 6ft tall, of medium to slim build, aged about 20. He was wearing a black woolly hat, a dark blue or black padded jacket with the letters HH in yellow on the back and dark tracksuit trousers.

The third offender was described as white, about 5ft 6ins tall, of medium to slim build and aged about 20 years. He was wearing a beige baseball cap with the letters NY on the front, a dark coloured scarf which covered the lower part of his face, a dark baggy padded jacket and dark tracksuit bottoms.

The fourth offender was described as black or Asian, about 6ft tall, of slim to medium build, aged about 20 years. He was wearing a tight fitting dark hat made from thin material, a dark baggy padded-style jacket and dark tracksuit trousers.

The victim also suffered scratches to the neck.
