POLICE called to a house found a youth armed with a knife shouting threats from a first floor window, Worcester Crown Court heard.
Craig Degville, aged 18, of Deerbarn Hill, Redditch, pleaded guilty to affray and possession of cannabis.
He denied a charge of assault on police and this was accepted by the prosecution. He was given a not guilty verdict.
Prosecutor Nigel Reader said police were called to the defendant's family home on September 8 last year.
There had been physical confrontations between family members and some damage to property, most of it belonging to Degville.
Mr Reader said he was shouting threats from an upstairs window. It took 'considerable efforts' to persuade him to surrender.
Degville had previous cautions for burglary and common assault.
Samantha Powis, defending, asked for pre-sentence and psychiatric reports to be prepared.
But Judge Andrew Geddes turned down her bail application, remanding Degville in custody. The case was adjourned for sentence at a later date.
