THE leader of the minority Labour group on Bromsgrove District Council is demanding an explanation into why a former employee was paid £120,000.
Cllr Peter McDonald (Uffdown and Waseley) believes the figure referred to in the council's recently published annual accounts is the pay off sum given to former chief executive and treasurer David Bryant who was made redundant from his £63,000 a year job in 2000.
Cllr McDonald has tabled the question for next Tuesday's meeting of the full council.
He first raised the issue at a policy and resources committee meeting on January 8 but was then told employees' personal terms and salaries could not be discussed in open committee.
