TOWN organisations are being urged to take part in an annual competition, organised to award projects that benefit the county.

The Community Pride 2002 competition, organised by Worcestershire County Council's Countryside Service, has been running for 10 years and has a top prize of £500.

Schools, youth groups, parish organisations and other community groups can enter into the competition if they have a project that has benefited the county and the surrounding environment, thereby making it a better place to live.

Entries for the Community Pride Competition should be submitted by April 30.

Further details about the competition and grants are available from Worcestershire County Council's Countryside Projects Team. The number to call them on is 01905 766 493.
