PRESIDENT Audrey Bryant welcomed 17 members to the January meeting.
Suggestions for commemorating the Queen's Golden Jubilee were asked for.
Mary Hartley is to be the delegate at the annual meeting in Malvern.
A trained operatic singer, Christine Patterson, then spoke of her experiences as a television extra appearing in many programmes including Casualty and When the Boat Comes In. A varied and entertaining talk was followed by many questions.
The next meeting will be at the village hall on February 7 at 2pm when the speaker will be Mr Preece on microphotography.
The 70th birthday lunch had been enjoyed by members, former members and visitors, including county chairman Elizabeth Johnson.
Thanks were given to Patience Reed and Barbara Brazier who organised the lunch and to all who helped. The celebration cake was made by Barbara Lees.
Annual cups were presented to Betty Groves (cookery); Audrey Bryant (flowers); Nancy Davis (craft and preserves).
