A RETIRED Stoke Prior man has spoken out about the nocturnal vandals who have ransacked his beloved allotment three times.

Barry Taylor, of Foley Gardens, who tends an allotment in Shaw Lane, has been targeted three times in the last 12 months by heartless vandals - most, recently on Saturday, January 5.

The 62-year-old was distraught to find his shed, which contained around £1,000 worth of equipment, completely burnt out following the latest attack.

Two fire engines were called out to control the blaze at around midnight on the Saturday night.

Barry, who enjoys spending hours at his allotment, lost all his tools, a cement mixer, two brand new tyres, 10 beehives and around 2,000 flower pots.

Last year vandals smashed up his tractor and broke into his polythene tunnel on two separate occasions, both occurring on a Saturday night between 12am and 1pm.

The keen gardener said: "I am very angry at being hit again. I am retired and have put all my savings into buying equipment and this happens.

"The law is not tough enough on vandals to stop them from them from continually offending."

Stoke Prior parish council chairman, Thelma Roll, said: "We need to throw a light on to these vandals and stop this happening."
