A YOUNG teenage boy suffered a serious sexual attack in the toilets in Bromsgrove town centre on Sunday afternoon.

Police, who are keen for two people who were in the vicinity at the time to come forward, have issued a still picture taken from CCTV footage.

It shows a man they wish to speak to who may have vital information as they believe he may have seen or heard something.

He was seen to have parked a small, silver hatchback car on Market Street between 2.29 and 2.37pm.

There was someone else sat in the passenger seat, but at this stage police have no details of that person.

The boy was waiting for a friend at the bus depot at about 2.30pm when the incident occurred. He went into the mens' toilet where he was approached by the offender, and a serious sexual assault occurred.

Officers carried out a forensic investigation at the scene and more CCTV pictures are being examined.

The man pictured is said to be white, about 30-35 years old, 5ft 8ins tall and of medium build with short brown hair.

He was wearing a light coloured top and beige trousers.

Dc Fiona Paterson, of Bromsgrove police, said: "This young lad has been traumatised by the serious sexual assault and we are working hard to find out who the offender is.

"We are currently awaiting some more CCTC pictures that are being enhanced and may take them to a specialist unit in London to help with this.

"There may have been other people in and around the bus depot at this time, it is vital they contact us as soon as possible."

She added they are also keen to hear from a white woman wearing a light coloured top and light shoulder length hair, who was standing at a bus stop, and who may information.
