BARNT Green Spartak's quest for promotion to Midland Combination Division One was given a further boost on Saturday as they notched up their 12th consecutive league victory with a 2-1 success at Droitwich Spa.
Spartak gave debuts to Wesley Gilvett and former player Gary Jones, back after a three-year layoff with a knee injury.
And it was Jones who ran the game for the visitors in the first half, inspiring some attractive attacking football, which led to Simon Campbell's header for a 1-0 advantage at the interval.
Spa deserved their equaliser in the second half when Ben Blaber raced through to round John Slade to slot into an empty net.
But despite playing below par Spartak managed to forge out a number of chances with Simon Brown, Jay Rose and Matthew Wigley all being denied by the woodwork and Simon Williams in the Spa goal.
Then, with a draw looking on the cards, substitute Ezra Fuller beat his man on the left wing with three minutes to go, squared the ball across the six yard box where Rose tapped home his 15th league goal of the season to give Spartak the victory.
